What is your personal information and how do we collect it?

When used in this privacy policy, the term personal information has the meaning given to it in the Act. Generally, it is any information that can be used to personally identify you. This may include your name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, location, profession or occupation, details of previous orders, credit or debit card details and your IP address. If the information we collect personally identifies you, or you are reasonably identifiable from it, the information will be considered personal information.

Piccolina may collect or hold information received as a result of any dealing, transaction or interaction with you, including:

  • your personal contact details, such as name, age or date of birth, address, phone numbers, social media identifiers and email address;

  • any information you provide to us as a result of any transaction or interaction;

  • your location information, if you permit the website to access location-based services or functionality through the permission system in your device, we may collect the precise location of your device when the website is running in the foreground or background in order to deliver your order or to send you alerts such as the location of your nearest Piccolina store;

  • details of the items you have purchased from us;

  • any information you submit for the purposes of participating in promotional programs or collected as part of the administration of any such program; or

  • any information you provide to us when you place an order via our online ordering service, including credit card or debit card details.

  • by submitting online orders through our online ordering service; or

What Piccolina does with your personal information and why we collect it

We collect personal information about you so that we can provide the best possible customer service experience. We collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information for the following purposes:

  • to assist in responding to any requests, including complaints that you make to us;

  • to process orders submitted via our online ordering service and process payments for those orders;

We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is protected from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We may hold your information in either electronic or hard copy form. Personal information is destroyed or de-identified when no longer needed.

As our website is linked to the internet, and the internet is inherently insecure, we cannot provide any assurance regarding the security of transmission of information you communicate to us online. We also cannot guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the internet. Who can we disclose your personal information to?

Piccolina may disclose your personal information to:

  • our employees, contractors or service providers for the purposes of operating our website, fulfilling requests by you, and to otherwise provide products to you including, without limitation, third party payment providers, web hosting providers, IT systems administrators, mailing houses, couriers, payment processors, data entry service providers, electronic network administrators, debt collectors, and professional advisors such as accountants, solicitors, business advisors and consultants;

  • suppliers and other third parties with whom we have commercial relationships, for business, marketing, and related purposes; or

Direct marketing materials

Piccolina may send you direct marketing communications and information about our products and services that we consider may be of interest to you. These communications may be sent in various forms, including mail, SMS and email, in accordance with applicable marketing laws, such as the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You consent to us sending you those direct marketing communications by any of those methods. If you indicate a preference for a method of communication, we will endeavour to use that method whenever practical to do so. How can you access and correct your personal information?

You may access the personal information we hold about you to update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your personal information, please contact us in writing via We will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your personal information. In order to protect your personal information, we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.

There may be instances where we cannot grant you access to the personal information we hold. Third party payment providers

Orders submitted through our online ordering service must be paid for by credit card, debit card or other payment methods via the payment facility provided. This secure payment facility is provided by a third-party payment gateway provider. We do not store your full credit card or debit card details. You can save your preferred payment method through your online ordering account, but our third-party provider will store these details for future retrieval. You expressly consent to us sharing your personal information to any third-party payment provider we engage from time to time.
